Green Garnet, or also known as Tsavorite, is a popular variety of garnet. Despite being named after the Tsavo East National Park in Kenya the gemstone was first discovered in the 1960's in Kenya. It was made popular by Tiffany & Co. in the following decade. The gemstone has traces of vanadium and chromium which give off its sought after green hue. Often said to be more brilliant than its rival the emerald, these stones are used for engagement ring stones as well.
ツァボライトは人気のあるガーネットの品種です。ケニアのツァボイースト国立公園にちなんで名付けられたにもかかわらず、宝石は1960年代にケニアで最初に発見されました。次の10年でティファニーによって人気が出ました。宝石にはバナジウムとクロムの痕跡があり、求められている緑の色合いを放ちます。ライバルのエメラルドよりも鮮やかであるとよく言われるこれらの石は、婚約指輪の石にも使用されています。
