DEMANTOID GARNET 0.55cts UP/pcs (OSDEM10002)

Demantoid or Andradite Garnet was first found in Russia during the 19th century and was named as such due to its similar apperance to diamonds. There were also instances of this gemstone being mistaken for Emeralds due to the somewhat similar color. Despite new sources being identified, this gemstone is still considered quite rare. Within the Garnet classification, Demantoid is considered a highly valued gemstone. In particular pieces of Demantoids with golden fibrous inclusions of "horsetail inclusions" are highly sought after. While jewelry pieces with Demantoid are beautiful they are easily scratched and must be handled carefully.
